AIA Philadelphia and SMPS Philadelphia jointly present this six-part series to provide you with the tools to ANALYZE, PLAN, DEVELOP, PROPOSE, PROMOTE, and MANAGE the growth of your business. Attendees will learn how to use social media and other tools to research competition, develop and implement a marketing plan, build lasting business relationships, spread the word about their firm’s brand, and manage information to put you and your firm ahead of the pack.
You don't need to be a marketing professional to attend this series, each session is intended to provide technical professionals knowledge to further their careers.
Who is SMPS Philadelphia?
SMPS Philadelphia, a Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), is a community of marketing and business development professionals working to secure profitable business relationships for their A/E/C companies. Through networking, business intelligence, and research, SMPS members gain a competitive advantage in positioning their firms successfully in the marketplace. All programs will begin with a 30 minute networking session, beer, wine, soda, water, and light snacks.
Session 1: ANALYZE
January 17, 5:30 - 7:00 pm
This session will focus on how to use social media, the internet, industry publications, white papers, and forecasting models to understand your clients’ needs, know your competition, and grasp how the economy is impacting your business.
Session 2: PLAN
February 21, 5:30 - 7:00 pm
This session will focus on what a marketing plan is, how to develop one, and how to use it to grow your network and win work.
Session 3: DEVELOP
March 21, 5:30 - 7:00 pm
This session will focus on how to develop and maintain business relationships that lead to future work.
Session 4: PROPOSE
April 18, 5:30 - 7:00 pm
This session will focus on proposal development, how to determine if you should pursue the project, identifying teaming partners, and developing short-list presentations.
Session 5: PROMOTE
May 16, 5:30 - 7:00 pm
This session will focus on using social media, the press, networking/tradeshow activities, special events, and your brand to promote your message.
Session 6: MANAGE
June 20, 5:30 - 7:00 pm
This session will focus on promoting a firmwide business development culture and using information management and communications to propel your firm to the next level.
